RESEARCH PROVES DOGS RESPOND TO WOLF HOWLS

Writer's picture: Raen AlcazarRaen Alcazar

Tests have proven that some canines respond to wolf howls more frequently than others. Howling is a common trait associated with wolves--and specific dog breeds such as huskies. From ScienceAlert, 68 purebred dogs were put to the test. The test revealed that older dog breeds respond more effectively than others. The newer breeds that reacted to the wolf howl have been proven to be attepting to get one's attention--while the older breeds are simply trying to talk back to the wolf.

It has also been demonstrated that the more ancient breeds obtain more of an understanding of the language behind the howl.

Once people understand the true nature of wolves and their plight in the wild, that's one step closer to saving them.
