NEWS/UPDATES REGARDING COLORADO WOLF REINTRODUCTION

Writer's picture: Raen AlcazarRaen Alcazar

Colorado Officals have set a plan to start indroducing 10 to 15 wolves to the state by the end of 2023 and over the course of 3 to 5 years. Initially, they planned to target most of the western states and hopefully encourage them to donate their wolves. These states included Idaho, Montana, Wisconsin, Wyoming, Washington, and Oregon. Their first stop was Washington.

They had a meeting with Washington's wildlife agency--Washington is still hesitant on the idea of donating wolves, but still is instrested in hearing more about it.

Colorado also asked some other northern states; Montana, Winsconin, Wyoming, and Idaho. All states so far are declining Colorado's offer--leaving Colorado officals with only one state left--Oregon. Colorado has not lost all hope though, they even have found a way to keep cattle safe if/when they start the reintroduction. All we can do now is hope for the best; and news regarding this issue will be shared and updated.

Once people understand the true nature of wolves and their plight in the wild, that's one step closer to saving them.
