In the spring of 2024, a yearling female wolf was run over by a snowmobile and tortured by a man named Cody Roberts who was only fined $250 for being "in possession of a live animal". Running down wildlife such as wolves and coyotes with snowmobiles is legal. But there is hope, a bill (H.R.9568 - SAW Act) has been introduced by Representative Nacy Mace.
